Substance Abuse Traffic Offender Program (SATOP)
 
Several services are provided for DWI, DUI offenders and other court ordered programs for traffic violations. Treatment for DWI, DUI offenders at all levels include:

OMU (Offender Management Unit) Screening (initial assessment) - consists of a DOR driver’s record check, a standardized computer-screening questionnaire, and an individualized interview to determine the appropriate level of education or rehabilitation for each offender.

OEP (Offenders Education Program) - A 10 hour, 2 day course designed specifically to assist first-time offenders in understanding the choices they made that led to their intoxication and arrest.

WIP (Weekend Intervention Program) - Designed for repeat offenders or "high risk" first-time offenders using intensive education and counseling intervention methods throughout a marathon weekend of structured activities. It consists of 48 hours completed from Friday - 4:00 p.m. to Sunday - 4:00 p.m.

CIP (Clinical Intervention Program) - Consists of intensive outpatient counseling for 3 to 6 weeks based on the needs of the persistent or "high risk" offender. A minimum of 50 hours of treatment activity consisting of individual counseling, group counseling, and group education at a certified treatment facility to be completed or a 4 to 6 week period.

REACT (Required Educational Assessment and Community Treatment) – An education program designed for first time drug offenders. It is a 10 hour, 2 day program that will include local outpatient and residential treatment (if needed) that will promote through education drug and crime free lifestyle, and intervention. This program includes REP which is an educational program as well as a RSU which is a standardized computer screening questionnaire and individualized interview to determine education or treatment for the 1st time nonviolent Chapter 195 drug offender.

SATOP programs are certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) - Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. There are no restrictions with regard to sex, race, religion, color, disability, or ability to pay. Family Counseling Center accepts a wide variety of funding for services such as private pay, insurance, Missouri Medicaid, Medicare, and others. DMH funded service fees are determined according to the state standard means test
