Family Counseling Center endorses the Procovery model to deliver services. The focus of Procovery is one of letting go of what was and rebuilding a new vision for one’s life. Procovery embraces working with individuals and their families to accept one’s mental illness and all that goes with it; and also to move beyond those limitations.

Procovery is a system of supports in which consumers rebuild their lives with meaning and decrease their dependence on the mental health system. This skilled-based model has the potential to increase positive outcomes for individuals. Procovery strives to empower consumers, families, providers and communities to move past the stigmas of mental illness and substance abuse into an era where individuals with behavioral health problems can be viewed as persons with meaningful and productive lives.
